Mechanical packers are installed into the affected area and specialist resin is injected under control. Polyurethane injection leak repair can react with water, expand into the leak path and form a seal. Acrylic gels may be selected for fine cracks, movement-sensitive joints or below ground waterproofing details.
Hydrophilic and hydrophobic polyurethane resins behave differently, so the correct system depends on the leak, flow rate, crack width, joint movement and structure. The aim is targeted crack injection waterproofing that stops water ingress without unnecessary breakout.
